DotNet Framework

Knowledge Base > FAQs

Please note: We are hopeful that with the release of Version 11 of PC-Convey these issues will no longer arise, but until we are sure about this we are retaining these questions and answers.

Q: When installing the program, I received a message saying "This setup requires the DotNet Framework. Please see our website for details of how to obtain the DotNet Framework and then run this setup program again." What should I do now?

A: Applications written for the DotNet Framework (such as PC-Convey and PC-IFD) require certain files to be installed on the PC where the application runs. If your PC doesn't already have these files installed The DotNet Framework is available via this link.

Q: I have the DotNet Framework on my PC, but I still get the message that I need the DotNet Framework V1 to be installed. What should I do?
A: PC-Convey and PC-IFD were developed using DotNet V1, and so you must have V1 installed even if you also have later versions installed.

Q: How do I re-install DotNet Framework V1.0 when the V1.1.4322 folder exists on my PC?

A: Re-name the folder C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 to, say, C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 _old (on the off chance that you need to recover it later), then install the DotNet Framework again. This will install a full version of the V1.0 Framework. You should then be able to install PC-Convey or PC-IFD. You can obtain the DotNet framework files via this link.

Q: I tried to re-install the DotNet Framework V1 on a Vista and a Windows 7 PC but it didn't work. What now?
A: If you are using Vista or Windows 7 some people have issues installing 1.1 after the later versions. Unfortunately, you will need to re-install all Versions in numerical order. Other versions of the DotNet Framework may be found via this link.
